Welcome to Spanish with Littles!

At Spanish with Littles we want to provide the opportunity of amazing language classes to families of all kinds. We believe kids are made to learn language and they can truly thrive in a way you would never have imagined! We hope our passion for interactive and fun learning will help pull your child into the absolute joy of language!

We are offering fun and active classes in Spanish and provide learning materials for families to be empowered to learn Spanish from home. In our classes we'll incorporate lots of movement to help us connect meaning to new words and have fun doing it! We want to help empower your child by giving them the joy of learning a second language as well as all of the incredible things speaking more than one language can do for you. Learning a second language early can improve memory as well as concentration in young learners. On top of that, learning a second language brings to life a curiosity about the world!

Our Vision

At Spanish With Littles, we recognize the immense potential within every child, and we are dedicated to cultivating their linguistic skills in a fun and nurturing environment. Our carefully crafted curriculum combines playfulness with purpose, fostering a dynamic space where language acquisition is not only effective but also enjoyable.

We believe in the power of small class sizes to create personalized learning experiences, allowing our dedicated instructors to tailor each session to the unique needs of every child. Through lively activities, age-appropriate games, and creative exploration, we aim to make the Spanish language come alive for our young learners, laying the foundation for a multilingual future.

Methodology

At Spanish with Littles we not only believe that every child can learn a second language but that it can become one of the most rewarding and mind-opening experiences that you can give your child.

Interaction:

  • The most important part about a successful online language class for little learners is high engagement. There are so many ways that we make this possible at Spanish with Littles.

  • Provide an open and loving environment towards every student. Our biggest goal in class is to make each student feel loved, valued, and comfortable.

  • Give every student ample opportunities to practice using words and sentences but allow every student the autonomy to decide when and how they will begin to speak. Some will speak and sing out loud using words and sentences their first day. Other students may take weeks before they choose to speak. Our rule is the STUDENT decides when they will talk and we just provide consistent opportunities for them to do so.

  • Include games, songs, chants, and movement that encourage learners to participate in fun and exciting ways.

  • Prioritize a mind and body connection for young learners. We do this through TPR (Total Physical Response) -which simply means doing and intuitive motion or gesture that connects to the vocabulary being practiced, as well as finding things around their house that demonstrates an understanding of the vocabulary. Little learners connect to the material through movement so we encourage lots of that!

  • Maintain small class sizes that allow for optimal interaction between teacher and student as well as between peers.

Carefully designed material:

  • Carefully planned activities that encourage body movement, speaking, singing in a fun and exciting way

  • Provide a reliable routine that students can count on having a sentence of comfort and familiarity within a topic that may be very new and even scary for some learners. The routine allows students to feel that they know what to expect and makes them feel a sense of pride and belonging in the classroom setting as they learn to anticipate activities and expectations of the teacher.

  • Lesson plans incorporate a combination of repeating activities and new tasks to keep things new and interesting while not being overwhelmed.

  • Lessons allow for students to interact with the images through movement, search and find, completing patterns, or other tasks.

  • We follow the teach, practice apply method (TPA) for most new words and concepts.

  • We lean in to the benefits of the brain plasticity of children 6 and under to learn languages through exposure. Children at the age are in a critical period for language development and just the presence of a second language at this important age will set children ahead for learning language for the rest of their life!
